Job description
This permanent role focuses on the advanced development and integration of avionics systems within the Eurofighter Typhoon Avionics Joint Team (AJT). This team is pivotal for the overall system level functional avionic design and partitioning across multiple sub-systems, ensuring avionics safety, qualification, and certification of integrated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse new and emerging customer requirements and conduct safety and feasibility scoping for all main sub-systems teams.
- Coordinate review sessions of provided requirements, such as Customer Statements of Requirements (SOR) or EF System Requirements Documents (SRD), to identify initial customer needs and problem spaces, documented in the Avionic System Scope and Feasibility Analysis Report (ASFAR).
- Coordinate initial safety assessments of design changes, identifying potential hazards and the need for Weapon System Preliminary Hazard Analysis (WS PHA), with findings captured in the ASFAR.
- Conduct initial technical assessments of Customer Business Cases (BC) to document the scope, impact, and potential solutions, culminating in an Avionic Design recommendation and feasibility study.
Job Requirements:
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong background in Systems Engineering throughout the full system development lifecycle, ideally within the Aerospace or Defence sectors.
- Proven experience in requirements capture and management.
- Deep understanding of the relationship between engineering requirements and their impact on platforms and equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proven ability to produce formal project documentation.
