Job description

Our client, a leading specialist in the energy sector, is currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (Offshore) on a contract basis to join their team in Leatherhead for an initial 12-month period. This role offers an immediate start and involves contributing to an Offshore FEED Project with potential hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing electrical systems for various energy transition projects, including FEED and EPC work
• Developing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and load lists for electrical distribution power systems
• Sizing and specifying High Voltage (HV) equipment and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
• Creating and updating design philosophies, specifications, and datasheets
• Implementing designs for brownfield modifications and new platform tie-ins
• Ensuring compliance with BP Standards and UK North Sea Practices
• Collaborating with the lead engineer and supporting a multidisciplinary team

Job Requirements:

• Experience in designing electrical systems for energy transition projects
• Strong understanding of offshore electrical distribution power systems
• Proficiency in creating and developing SLDs, load lists, and HV equipment specifications
• Knowledge of BP Standards and UK North Sea Practices
• Ability to develop design philosophies, specifications, and datasheets
• Capability to implement brownfield modifications and tie-in new platforms during the FEED stage
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
