Our client has an opportunity for high calibre and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team, within the Engines, Batteries and Drives devision.

Job description

This role, based within the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team, focuses on advancing electric propulsion systems for future vehicle models. You will collaborate closely with Product Development Engineers, facility vendors, and suppliers, ensuring high-quality and efficient propulsion designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing assembly and in-process test processes and facilities
  • Planning and developing installation timing plans with key suppliers
  • Working within a team to plan and implement changes to Module and Battery pack assembly and test lines
  • Providing feasibility statements for Product Development designs
  • Ensuring robust process planning including build simulations and PFMEAs
  • Supporting physical builds and raising issues where appropriate
  • Applying Lean manufacturing and design for assembly principles
  • Ensuring adherence to company and departmental operating processes and policies

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electrical distribution systems and electrical design
  • Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality and process improvement
  • Ability to collaborate across functions to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards
  • Familiarity with Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
  • Willingness to travel, potentially overseas
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Delivery of robust assembly processes and equipment
  • Adherence to all systems and processes for new product introduction
  • Support of PCDS to ensure gateway adherence
  • Zero defect launch
  • Zero accident installation
