Job description

Our client BAE Systems is seeking a Logistics Planner to join their Air Business Unit based in Warton near to Preston. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless management and organisation of logistics within a highly regulated defence environment. The position is offered on a contract basis for a duration of 12 months, requiring full on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and managing logistical planning and warehousing activities
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of logistics schedules and materials
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on logistics matters
• Conducting regular reviews to optimise logistics processes and identify areas for improvement
• Ensuring compliance with defence and security regulations
• Utilising MRP/ERP systems for effective resource planning
• Meeting project deadlines and managing delivery timelines effectively

Job Requirements:

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Background in supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics planning is beneficial
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage time efficiently
