Job description

Our client, a leading entity within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer specialising in Process Development to join its Engineering Function team in Barrow, with hybrid working arrangements available (1-2 days in the office per month).

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the development and optimisation of engineering processes within the submarines business unit
• Implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute project plans
• Providing technical expertise and guidance on process engineering matters
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Documenting and reporting on process development activities and outcomes
• Monitoring and analysing process performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
• Maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and project timelines

Job Requirements:

• Comprehensive understanding of process engineering principles and practices
• Experience in the defence and security sector, particularly in submarine solutions
• Proven ability to lead and manage process development projects
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical data
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Adaptability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional office presence
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for defence projects
• Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent experience
