Job description

Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Press Brake Setter / Operator to join their team on a temp to perm basis. As a key player in the production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brakes to produce high-quality sheet metal components. Your expertise will ensure production targets are met efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate all CNC press brakes
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and engineering drawings
• Ensure production processes are cost-effective and report any time overruns
• Promote and maintain quality standards in collaboration with the Quality Manager
• Follow 'Standard Operating Procedures' and adhere to health and safety guidelines
• Assist in developing ideas to reduce waste and increase efficiency
• Support training requirements and mentor team members
• Provide feedback to management to enhance processes and quality control

Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC press brakes
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings
• Knowledge of production processes and efficiency optimisation
• Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment

Additional Skills:

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles
• Competence in using CAD software
• Knowledge of material properties and their impact on press brake operations
• Ability to analyse production data for continuous improvement
