Job description

BAE Systems is seeking highly skilled Mechanical Engineers to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical in supporting the Defence & Security sector, specifically within the Defence discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing mechanical engineering projects within the submarines business unit.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance on complex engineering problems.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation.
• Maintaining and enhancing client relationships through excellent communication.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in mechanical engineering
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and relevant software.
• Proficiency in project management and leadership skills.
• Understanding of industry standards and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

Additional Information:

This is a hybrid role, with requirements to be on site 2 days a fortnight. The contract duration is 6 months initially, and the role falls inside IR35 regulations.
