Job description

Our client, a distinguished entity in the automotive sector, is currently seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to become a permanent member of their dedicated and hardworking team in Northampton. This role involves providing robust Quality Engineering support to their Quality, Production, and Engineering functions, while also acting as a vital customer interface.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of internal quality issues and resolve them using quality tools
  • Engage in lineside quality improvement activities such as defect disposition analysis, scrap and rework analysis, and general improvement projects
  • Conduct data-driven improvement activities in response to internal quality gate findings, including root cause analysis, countermeasure implementation, and auditing
  • Plan and manage APQP and PPAP activities, including maintaining the PPAP tracker

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in aluminium CNC machining
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic knowledge of aluminium casting processes
  • Demonstrated experience in automotive PPAPs / APQP
  • Proficiency in using quality tools (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, etc.)
  • Experience with manufacturing metrology equipment, including CMMs
  • Proficiency in using handheld gauging equipment
  • Working understanding of statistical analysis tools such as Gauge R&Rs, capability analyses, and comparison tests
