Job description

Our client, a recognised name in the construction industry, is currently seeking skilled Steel Fixers to join their team in Southampton on a contract basis. This is a prime opportunity to work on high-profile construction projects, contributing to the progress and success of vital infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering plans
• Setting out the work area, following engineering plans
• Installing and securing steel bars and mesh in concrete forms to reinforce structures
• Using hand and power tools to cut and bend bars or mesh
• Joining steel bars by welding, tying or threading
• Fitting spacers and supports
• Working collaboratively with other construction workers and foremen
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Job Requirements:

• Experience in steel fixing within the construction industry
• Familiarity with blue-collar working environments
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
• Proficiency with necessary hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and safety standards
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good physical condition, able to handle the physical demands of the job
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in steel fixing
