Job description
Our client is seeking a Moulding Tool Maintenance Technician to support their expanding machine shop environment. This role involves maintaining and repairing moulding tools, ensuring production efficiency and quality.
Main Duties:
- Tool Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform maintenance and repairs using best practices.
- Adhere to company Health & Safety procedures.
- Work within the scope of in-house equipment and facilities.
- End of Run Maintenance:
- Conduct routine end-of-run checks, cleaning, and lubrication as defined in the 'End of Run Maintenance Procedure.'
- Report and perform additional remedial work as needed.
- 100,000 Shot Service:
- Execute routine 100,000 shot services as per the '100,000 Shot Service Procedure.'
- Report and carry out necessary additional remedial work.
- Emergency Breakdown Repairs:
- Conduct emergency breakdown repairs as needed.
- Advisory Role:
- Provide advice and recommendations on required actions for tool faults, wear, or other issues.
- Liaison with Moulding Department Supervisor:
- Ensure work aligns with the availability of the mould tool and production requirements.
- Tool Work History and Cost Management:
- Manage all tool work history and associated costs effectively.
- Quality and Functionality Familiarity:
- Understand the function and quality requirements of the mould tool and parts affected by the work carried out.
- Equipment and Tool Care:
- Maintain and correctly use all workshop equipment and tools.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience with injection moulding tools.
- Strong engineering background and presence.
- Trade apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
Position Details:
- Duration: Initially 12 months, with potential for a permanent role.
- Location: Fully on-site.
- Working Hours: Flexible hours, Monday to Friday.
- Pay: Approximately £19.30 per hour, depending on suitability.
