Job description

Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems Engineering (Requirements & Acceptance) for a contract position. This role is meant to act as an interface between the project and the wider transversal stakeholder community.

The SDS programme is focused on acting as a SANDBOX environment for the development of Tolls, Processes & Technologies that could benefit the SSNA programme, a programme mantra of rapid progression and fast learning will be applied to accelerate ahead of the SSNA programme to feedback lessons learned and in sight, there is an intent that if the eningeering phase is successful the programme will continue on to de-risk the transition to build activities.

There will be a strong focus on the development of more effective system engineering practice through Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and the embodiment of Key business toolsets associated with the NextGen Digital framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of Transversal Design Policies
• Management of interactions between the system owner and transversal requirement owners
• Support to the development of MBSE transversal policy and process
• Embedding LFE and lessons learned into the SSNA programme

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of BAE Tranversal Management

• Knowledge of BAE internal system design processes, toolsets and methodologies

• Knowledge of Transversal management is key - BAE transversal would be advantageous.

• Systems engineering background - Engineering degree or experience equivalent (3 to 5 year+)

• 1 Position available
• 12-Month contract
• Inside IR35
• Hybrid working model with 2 days on site at Barrow-in-Furness every fortnight. Additional working options are available at Filton, Frimley, or Broad Oak.
• Security Clearance (SC) required to start
