Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the Controls and Automation sector, is currently seeking a skilled PLC Programmer to join their dynamic team on a contract basis, working on a variety of projects within the manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and programming PLCs, specifically Siemens and Rockwell, for various automation systems
• Designing control systems for conveyors, water test mechanisms, packaging conveyors, baggage conveyor systems, and postal service applications
• Configuring and testing individual package movement as well as bulk package systems
• Troubleshooting and optimising existing PLC programs to enhance system performance
• Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate and commission control systems
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for control systems and PLC configurations

Job Requirements:

• Strong experience in PLC programming with Siemens and Rockwell
• Proficiency in designing and implementing control systems for diverse applications
• Solid understanding of conveyor systems, both individual and bulk package handling
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience in the automation and manufacturing sectors is highly desirable
