Job description


Our client, operating at the forefront of the Building Control sector, is searching for a dynamic Building Control Manager / Head of Building Control to join their dedicated team in Birstall. This permanent role is pivotal, overseeing a team of 10 surveyors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the development of the business throughout Yorkshire and the North East. There could also be an opportunity for a Senior / Principal Surveyor to move into a step up Management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing a team of 10 surveyors across Yorkshire and the North East
  • Ensuring all building control activities comply with current regulations and standards
  • Overseeing both residential and commercial projects, providing expert guidance and support
  • Conducting team meetings and reviewing performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Implementing strategies to enhance team efficiency and project delivery
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders to maintain excellent client relationships
  • Managing resources effectively to ensure project timelines and budgets are adhered to
  • Introducing and managing a bonus scheme aimed at rewarding team excellence

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Building Control with the ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Understanding of building control regulations for both residential and commercial properties
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing and developing a team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Relevant qualifications in Building Control or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Full driving licence

Benefits:

  • Salary ranging from £75,000 - £90,000
  • Company car or £4,800 car allowance
  • 25 days leave per annum
  • Quarterly bonus scheme (£1,000)
