Job description
This is a replacement role for a current position in the team, with an initial contract of 6 months.
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the council's dynamic and ground-breaking Transport Strategy team. This role is central to the borough's bold ambitions to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment, making our streets a place everyone can enjoy and tackling climate change.
Main Duties:
- Project Management: Oversee the delivery programmes for electric vehicle charge points across the borough.
- Liaising with Contractors: Collaborate with contractors and strategic partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Handle procurement activities and manage contracts effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the principal point of contact for procurement activities and engage with a wide range of key stakeholders.
- Enquiries and FOI Requests: Provide responses to resident and member enquiries and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
- Programme Governance: Ensure work is managed in accordance with all relevant policies, legislation, and procedures.
- Performance Management: Oversee project delivery, research, performance management, and reporting.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in the context of electric vehicle infrastructure or similar projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage contracts and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with policies and legislation related to transport and environmental sustainability.
