Job description
Our client, a prominent player in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a skilled Dimensional Control Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects and to work closely with industry specialists in a growing sector.
About The Role:
The Dimensional Control Surveyor is responsible for contributing to all technical activities within the Geomatics department and leading on dimensional control projects. This role reports directly to the Geomatics Technical Director and is geared towards ensuring the success of the Geomatics Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working under the applicable regulations and requirements of the industry
- Assisting with technical aspects of conducting dimensional control survey operations including data acquisition, processing and reporting
- Providing technical support for clients and team members, including problem-solving for remote colleagues
- Compiling company survey procedures
- Liaising with clients to provide tenders and results in appropriate formats
- Supporting the Geomatics Technical Director to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Contributing to survey strategies regarding current and future projects, tasks, and operations
- Reporting any potential technical issues to the Geomatics Technical Director or Managing Director
- Assisting with quality assurance for projects
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Geomatics Technical Director
Job Requirements:
- Competence in all land surveying procedures
- Knowledge of hydrographic sensors used on survey vessels (e.g., MBES, GNSS, USBL, MRU, IMU, INS)
- Proficient in using land survey instrumentation and software, such as Total Station, GNSS, and Laser Scanner
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both internally within the team and externally to stakeholders
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Project administration, client liaison, and resource allocation (staff, equipment, vehicles, HSE)
- Conducting complex fieldwork projects
- Maintenance and calibration of survey equipment
- Acquisition and processing of dimensional control data
- Liaising with clients via telephone, email, and reports, and attending meetings as required
- Using ASANA project management software for maintaining project information
- Communicating project risks to survey managers
Additional Duties:
- Staying informed about technical developments within the industry
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Assisting with client management and business development
- Supporting the development of a strong team of competent and qualified personnel
- Presenting services and capabilities to new and potential clients
- Providing personnel development and training according to ICES and/or RICS framework
- Submitting written reports and evidence regarding adherence to company policies and procedures
