Job description
Our client, is currently seeking an Engineering Manager - Systems Engineering for a contract position. This role is critical within the Defence & Security, Marine, and Maritime sectors, focusing on the management and delivery of bespoke products for the Dreadnought Common Infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management and integration of multi-disciplined engineering teams, and leadership of engineering resources
- Delivery of projects to meet customer and contractual obligations, including cost, quality, and timeliness management
- Resolution of engineering conflicts and integration of activity to meet a coherent and prioritised set of demands
- Tailoring and applying engineering processes, tools, and approaches to develop innovative solutions
- Leading and managing engineering staff or business partnerships/sub-contracts
- Ensuring team members are assessed, developed, and aligned with project requirements
- Managing engineering resource requirements through the project lifecycle
- Performing engineering planning, management, and review activities to ensure product compliance
Job Requirements:
- Experience in engineering management and Systems Engneering HW and SW
- Detailed knowledge of engineering life cycle management and the Design Review Process
- Understanding of how different functional areas interrelate and interact within a contract
- Leadership ability to manage a single engineering team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject or a degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Chartered status (preferably)
About the Team:
The team operates across various sites, including Frimley, Weymouth, and Portsmouth. Flexibility in hybrid working arrangements is required, with a minimum of 2 days on-site per week. The position covers a range of bespoke products and integration activities, aligning with technology-based projects.
