Job description
Our client, a world leader in developing and manufacturing abatement systems for the semiconductor industry, is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join their team in Bristol. This permanent role offers a hybrid working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Mechanical Engineering activities across projects through mechanical engineers and teams, ensuring cohesive collaboration and guiding teams towards successful project milestones.
- Advocate and implement best practice mechanical engineering across projects to improve the delivery of engineering functions to time, cost, quality, and specification.
- Ensure mechanical engineering of product development meets requirements from stakeholders to subsystem-level, with effective validation and verification plans.
- Manage mechanical engineering budgets for people and financial resources, contributing to future forecasting with the Senior Engineering Manager.
- Drive innovation, identifying IP opportunities and threats for new products, maintaining awareness of competitor and industry solutions.
- Offer expert advice to other engineers and support their training and development through mentoring and professional development plans.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in the practical application of best-practice Mechanical Engineering in a relatable engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of product safety and compliance in a regulated industry.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Mechanical Engineers.
- Experience in tutoring and instructing best-practice Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
- Displays clear leadership behaviours, capable of taking ownership of situations and guiding people effectively.
- High integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in project and budget management.
- Experience in effectively coaching others and transferring knowledge of best-practice Mechanical Engineering.
