Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Location: South London, UK (Min 4 days on site)
Department: Project Management Office (PMO)
Reports To: Head of PMO

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Mechanical Project Manager to join our team, supporting the Programme Manager in delivering strategic programmes that drive our success.
Main Purpose of the Job: As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing assigned projects in line with our F1 PMO Methodology. Your primary goal will be to lead these projects from initiation through to closure, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong ability to manage resources, risks, and stakeholders while maintaining a focus on excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver assigned mechanical projects in accordance with the F1 PMO Methodology.
- Lead projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget.
- Develop comprehensive project scope documents, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Serve as the main point of contact for project performance updates, managing direct responsibilities with all stakeholders.
- Oversee project resource demand and capacity across multiple projects.
- Proactively manage project risks and issues, implementing clear mitigation plans and following escalation processes when necessary.
- Conduct regular project review meetings, covering cost, schedule, resources, RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and RAG (Red, Amber, Green) statuses.
Other Responsibilities:
- Complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.
- Operate safely in accordance with company health and safety requirements.
- Undertake additional duties within your capabilities as assigned by your Department or Team Manager.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Prince 2 Practitioner certification.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Project Manager in delivering mechanical projects of various sizes and complexities.
- Proficiency in MS Project, with experience using MS Online and Gantt charts.
- Proven ability to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines in a structured and objective manner.
- Experience with Waterfall methodology.
- Experience managing a complex project portfolio and multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of resource management, risk management, stakeholder management, and change management.
- Understanding of the PMO's role within a business.
Desirable:
- APM PMQ, APMP, MSP certifications.
- Experience in the motorsport or engineering industry.
- Familiarity with Power BI.
