Job description
Our client, a Local Auhtority based in the South West, are currently seeking a Principal Planning Officer for a 3-month initial contract. As a Principal Planning Officer, you will have the opporutnity to work on an interesting case-load of major applications and take on sign-off responsibilities for junior staff.
This role has a hybrid working arrangement and the succesful candidate can work remotely with occasional office/site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse caseload of major planning applications
- Provide guidance and support to junior planning staff
- Review and make recommendations on planning reports
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning regulations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Job Requirements
- Significant experience in Development Management and Town Planning
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in using planning software and tools
- Flexibility to work remotely with occasional site visits
- Qualification in Town Planning or a related field
