Job description
Our client, operating within the land and development/civil engineering sector, is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent role, ideal for an experienced professional with a solid background in geotechnical design. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in setting up a new venture within the London office working on the water works and transportation sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading geotechnical design and delivery projects with a focus on water works and transportation
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers
- Collaborating closely with the Associate Director to establish and grow the new venture
- Conducting comprehensive geotechnical analyses and producing detailed reports
- Ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards throughout project lifecycles
- Managing project timelines and budgets effectively
- Engaging in business development activities to expand the client base
- Fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders through excellent communication and service
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably with hands-on design expertise
- Proven track record working on projects within the water and transportation sectors
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior staff
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
