Location: Eastleigh (Near Southampton)
Type: Temporary/Contract (with potential for permanent conversion)
Pay:
- £15.09 per hour (Basic)
- £5.05 per hour (Shift enhancement)
- Hours: Rolling 4-weekly shift pattern, 12-hour shifts covering both days (6am-6pm) and nights (6pm-6am), Monday to Sunday.
Overview:
We are looking for skilled Injection Moulding Setters to join our established and expanding team at our Eastleigh manufacturing site. Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for setting and operating injection moulding machines in line with production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Tool and Machine Setting
- Perform tool changes and set machine processes following best practices and safety procedures.
- Assist in trialing new tools to achieve optimal performance.
Production Efficiencies
- Provide hands-on process support.
- Ensure efficient tool changes and minimize machine downtime.
- Optimize setting conditions to reduce scrap and material waste.
- Complete necessary production records.
Quality Control
- Obtain 'first and last off' approval samples.
- Maintain consistent quality throughout the production run.
- Work with management and operators to address production issues.
Machine and Tool Maintenance
- Conduct routine maintenance of machines and tools.
- Coordinate with support staff for advanced maintenance and repairs.
Document Control
- Create and manage master setting sheets.
- Maintain production and quality instruction displays.
What We Expect From You:
Essential:
- Previous experience in an injection moulding environment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to thrive in a pressurised environment and meet deadlines.
- Hard-working attitude with flexibility to adapt to changes.
- A solid understanding of health & safety requirements.
Preferred:
- Formal Injection Moulding qualifications (e.g., IMT).
