Senior Manufacture Design Engineer - Green Technology
Are you passionate about green technology and eager to play a key role in advancing sustainable solutions? As a Senior Design Engineer in Manufacturing within our dynamic greentech team, you'll bridge the gap between innovative product design and efficient production, ensuring our cutting-edge solutions are both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and Refine: Partner with the Lead Manufacturing Engineer to enhance product designs and manufacturing processes for optimal efficiency and ease of assembly.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documents, including Manufacturing Bills of Materials, PFMEA, control plans, and Work Instructions.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to seamlessly integrate new designs into the manufacturing workflow.
- CAD Modelling: Use advanced CAD software to create precise design models and drawings that align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Tooling and Fixtures: Design and develop tooling and assembly fixtures to support efficient production.
- Design Optimisation: Utilize functional and analytical tools, including hand calculations and FEA, to optimise component and system designs.
- Prototype Support: Assist in the assembly and testing of prototype products to validate designs and processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in manufacturing engineering roles with a focus on process development, problem-solving, and optimization.
- Manufacturing Expertise: Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (casting, machining, molding, assembly, fabrication) and measurement techniques.
- Project Delivery: Proven experience in guiding mechanical systems from concept to production.
- CAD Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD, including part design, electrical integration, sheet metal design, and engineering drawings.
- Engineering Practices: Familiarity with good engineering practices and analytical methods.
- Industry Experience: Background in automotive, transport, motorsport, or electrical systems with a solid understanding of industry standards, safety processes, and certification.
- Manufacturability Insight: Deep understanding of assembly processes and production methods to evaluate the manufacturability of parts.
