Our client, a leading consultancy in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Business Operations Analyst to join their team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Job description

This hybrid role requires SC or DV clearance. The role focuses on enhancing the efficiency and performance of the Defence Business Unit through strategic and tactical activities aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning / Alignment:

  • Optimise the Business Operations function by delivering activities and projects that support the efficient achievement of the business's strategy and objectives.
  • Support the Defence Business Unit in successfully communicating its strategy, reporting progress and measuring outcomes to achieve long-term customer success and growth.
  • Define and control processes to proactively meet the demands of the business calendar, ensuring the Defence Business Unit meets reporting demands throughout the year.

Defence Leadership Team Support:

  • Provide key support to the Business Unit Director and Senior Leadership Team in the definition and execution of strategic priorities.
  • Drive business governance focus into areas identified by Business Unit leadership.

Provision of Management Information:

  • Deliver collation, preparation, and delivery of Business Unit operational performance information and analytics.
  • Co-ordinate Enterprise Risk Management processes and reporting across the Business Unit, ensuring business risk assessments and mitigation actions are identified and tracked.

Operational Excellence:

  • Control the Business Unit Continuous Improvement process, ensuring progress is reported for all approved CI initiatives.

Interface with Business Services:

  • Coordinate engagement between the Defence Business Unit and other enabling directorates, ensuring support for strategic and operational commitments.

Resource Management:

  • Support resource management through strategic workforce and capacity planning.
  • Lead resource managers in the assurance of valid resource demand data and identification of supply solutions.

Job Requirements:


Essential:

  • Experience in developing Business Operations processes from requirement definition through to benefits realisation.
  • Proactive approach with effective communication skills for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in a busy Business Operations environment.
  • Ability to work independently under the direction of the Business Operations Manager to deliver clear business outcomes.


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma process improvement tools.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of complex frameworks and programmes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform for PMO service enhancement.
