Our tier 1 water sector contractor client is currently seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join their SHEQ team for their CMDP Southern Water Joint Venture based primarily in Kent also covering Sussex/Hampshire.

Job description
This permanent role will be based throughout the Southern Water region, primarily in Sussex and Kent, with occasional ad hoc support to Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to play a key part in managing and developing regional safety strategies within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to regional management teams to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
- Assist in the implementation of HSE guidance and best practice across teams
- Conduct systematic audits and inspections of construction sites and workplaces
- Monitor and resolve health and safety issues effectively
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and learning points
- Support in the preparation of risk assessments and appropriate control measures
- Develop and maintain safety-related documentation, including manuals, procedures, and forms
- Collaborate with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- Extensive experience in health and safety within the Water Treatment or Construction industry
- Proven track record in a similar level position
- Knowledge of current UK statutory health and safety law
- Familiarity with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
- Understanding of HSE guidance and good practices in construction, including approved codes of practice
- Experience with ISO 45001 or similar management systems
- Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate)
- Proficient report writing skills
