Successful candidates will be working in a high performance engine assembly and test facility where the work will involve using hand and automated production methods and will require experience from an automotive background or other similar environments. However, candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn will be considered. Successful candidates will ensure that high levels of 5S are adhered to in the work area. They will also follow strict quality processes using bespoke systems ensuring all engines are built to specification. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a foot in the door if you are looking for a career in Automotive manufacturing.
Ideal candidates must have
- Reliable method of transport that supports onsite working, and able to work shifts (see below for start/finish times).
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Discipline in maintaining workplace standards.
Requirements
- Previous Assembly / manufacturing operations experience, ideally within a higher volume and repetitive product environment.
- Use of tooling for assembly and use of test equipment is desirable.
- Ability to learn and follow written work instructions and processes.
- Good communication skills.
- Flag issues and ask for support from Team Leader.
- IT skills (intermediate level of PC skills required, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word).
Job Description
- Understand and accurately follow standard operating procedures
- Completion of build operations to the required quality standard
Completion of build cycles within the proscribed TAKT time - Maintain productivity, safety and quality standards during build operations
- Work to achieve a good standard of competency and attain full knowledge of production processes
- Complete daily TPM and 5S activities as required
- Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act and Environmental policies
- Present a clean and tidy appearance in the workplace, wear and maintain the kit provided
- Be punctual for the start of shift and strictly adhere to the proscribed break times
- Notify Management immediately of any component or equipment defect
- Participate in rotation through multiple workstations and areas being flexible in response to operational requirements
- Report snags and positively contribute towards operational improvements using the correct processes
Rates & Hours
PAYE Pay Rates
Basic (upto 37.5hrs, Mon-Fri): £14.71
Overtime (over 37.5hrs Mon-Fri & Sat): £22.07
Sunday: £29.42
UMB Pay Rates
Basic (upto 37.5hrs, Mon-Fri): £19.76
Overtime (over 37.5hrs Mon-Fri & Sat): £29.65
Sunday: £39.53
Double Day Shifts
Earlies 06:00-14:15 (M-F) | Lates 14:30-22:45 | 45 min. break | 37.5 hours per week
Skills and Experience
GCSE Grade C and above in Maths and English combined with basic PC skills
