Title: Packaging and Part Marking Operator
Department:
Operations / Quality
Location: Oxford, UK
Reporting To: Team Leader (of Shift)

Contract Position ONLY from Nov 2024 until March 2025
All shifts available
(Weekdays, Weekday Nights and Weekends)

Job Purpose / Objectives:


The Packaging and Part Marking Operator is responsible for ensuring that high-quality, high-value components are accurately marked and properly packaged according to engineering drawings and standard operating procedures. This role involves the use of both automatic and manual equipment to mark parts with legible and precise information. The operator will also be responsible for updating systems upon the completion of tasks and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, health, and safety compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Part Marking: Mark components using various equipment, ensuring that all information is legible, accurate, and adheres to high standards of quality.
  • Packaging: Safely and securely package parts with the appropriate protection as per the specifications.
  • System Updates: Accurately update the Work Order booking systems upon task completion.
  • Compliance: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the correct identification and packaging of parts, adhering to health and safety policies.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Skills:

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Literacy: Excellent reading and writing skills, with the ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Engineering Experience: Previous experience working in an engineering environment.
  • PC Literacy: Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and preferably MS Dynamics 365 (training provided).
  • Equipment Use: Experience with Keyence laser engravers is advantageous, but training will be provided.

  • Reliability: Consistently reliable with the ability to work methodically and efficiently.
  • Team Player: Demonstrates a 'can do' attitude and works well within a team.
  • Focus Under Pressure: Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, maintaining focus and objectivity under pressure, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
