Job description
Our client, a leader in developing and manufacturing industry, is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This permanent role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work at the core of engineering and product development, ensuring products meet standards, directives, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify work packages, deliverables, and resolve issues with the best solutions.
- Be accountable for the technical aspects of product system and subsystem design, identifying risks and escalating issues when necessary.
- Incorporate modularity and standardisation to maximise reuse of engineering efforts.
- Ensure safety and type testing compliance, review and approve related reports.
- Mentor and coach Electrical Engineers towards their professional development.
- Lead the adoption of best practices and new technologies across projects to enhance engineering delivery.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (essential) or equivalent; a Master's degree is desirable.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards this qualification (desirable).
- Significant experience in practical application of best-practice product design, development, and electrical engineering within a relatable industry.
- Experience in leading and directing electrical engineering teams of around 10 or more people in a project-based environment.
- Understanding of dependability management and relevant industry standards (desirable).
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
- Ability to take ownership and bring people together even if they are not direct reports.
- High level of integrity, accountability, results-driven mindset, able to set standards and hold people accountable.
