Senior Quantity Surveyor (Highways Maintenance)

Our client, a prominent entity in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage highway maintenance, hard and soft landscaping, drainage, S278 and surfacing works across Kingston Upon Thames.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sub-Contract Management: Prepare sub-contract purchase orders o Prepare sub-contracts o Review valuations and issue payment notices o Prepare payment certs o Update all trackers o Manage sub-contract management system (CPA) when this is implemented by the business

• Estimating o Review and understand drawings o Complete take-offs using Bluebeam or similar measurement tools o Prepare Bill of Quantities o Price works from first principals o Manage sub-contract tender packages o Produce tenders for management review

• Project/Site Requirements (Various sites as required) o Review of drawings as issued and manage change o Prepare variations for review building up costs and back-up information o Understand and record site delays and work closely with the site team o Attend weekly programme, commercial and project meetings as required o Keep good records of any important items that may affect the companies commercially o On site measures as required o Prepare weekly and monthly hot costs

• Commercial Management o Track the monthly performance of each project - Value versus Cost o Prepare monthly valuations for the client including any variations o Submit invoices and ensure all payments are received as per our agreed payment terms o Assist the Private Works Manager with producing monthly CVR's, forecasts, BPI etc.

• Miscellaneous o Attend meetings for potential new projects o Complete any mandatory company training modules (online or in person as required) o Understand and follow the companies health and safety policies o Attend any safety stand-down days as require

Job Requirements:

• Highway maintenance, hard and soft landscaping, drainage, S278 and surfacing works (Ideal to have working knowledge of these)
• Primarily involved with Private Works (S278, one off schemes, developer works)
• Hybrid role with flexibility to work from home, in the companies offices and on various sites as required
• Report to Private Works Manager and will assist with all commercial duties as outlined below
• Potential for long term development or to become a long term role
• Suggest an initial 6-month term with projects secured for this duratio
