We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Associate/Technical Director of Tunnelling to join our expanding team. We work on some of the UK's most complex and technically challenging projects in sectors such as energy, transport, and water. About the Role
As a Technical Director, you will:
- Manage the technical leadership of the tunnelling team.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to foster the development of professional staff.
- Drive the growth of the tunnel design business and develop tunnelling-specific business strategies.
- Lead bidding and tender submission efforts.
- Ensure timely submission of deliverables, oversee technical checks, monitor budgets, and manage commercial aspects of projects.
- Collaborate closely with the Board and Engineering Design Practice Lead, contributing to the strategic development of the company.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Postgraduate qualifications in civil engineering.
- A minimum of 20 years' experience.
- Chartered status in civil or structural engineering, with membership in relevant professional bodies.
- Strong interpersonal and technical skills, with proven ability to lead tunnelling design teams.
- Significant experience in tunnelling design within a fast-paced engineering consultancy environment.
- A solid commercial track record.
- Proficiency in BIM and other relevant design software.
