Our client, a prominent player in the defence industry, is seeking a SC Cleared Safety Manager with past experience working in the Air Domain.

The Safety Manager will be required to:

• Deliver against the overarching programme and established safety management plan.
• Evolve and advise the safety programme to de-risk delivery and capitalise on opportunities.
• Work for assigned delivery teams to produce safety artefacts to time and quality requirements
• The Safety Manager shall advise the team to ensure the programme will deliver artefacts to demonstrate that policy, legislation, and defence regulation have been met and that assets are demonstrably safe.
• The Safety Manager shall be the team's focal point. As a result, will be required to represent the team at required safety engagements, including regulatory interface, and can brief up and down.
• The Safety Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks.

Essential Skills

• Practitioner level experience of safety management systems and processes (POSMS).
• Practitioner level experience of leading air safety management tasks.
• Practitioner level experience of:
  • Safety and Environmental Management Plans.
  • Safety Case / Safety Case Report.
  • Hazard Logs
  • Hazard identification and assessment.
  • Operation of safety review meetings

Desirable Skills

• Type Certification Experience
• Working within Air Domain
• Working within DE&S Airworthiness Team (DAT)
• Fault and Event Tree (FTA / ETA).
• BowTie assessment.
• Safety arguments (CAE / GSN).
• Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulation and standards and defence policy.
