Job description

REPORTING TO: Senior Quantity Surveyor

JOB PURPOSE: To assist in the delivery and governance of commercial services to the Surrey Term Mainmtenance Contract in a manner that achieves both value for money for our client and sustainable shareholder value consistent with the contract, tender and agreed processes in the spirit of mutual trust and co-operation. Ensure excellence and best practice in the support of the commercial elements of the Contract and ensuring excellence in the engagement and management of the supply chain, contract management and governance. To assist the timely production of the monthly application. To achieve RIS Business Plan Objectives.

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Processing of Applications on Causeway.
  • Processing early warnings and variations
  • Processing of Subcontractor liabilities
  • Processing of subcontractor applications for payment
  • Carry out duties in line with all Company Procedures and Policies
  • Ensure all work is carried out to correct specification / standard
  • Use Action Reporting Procedure to plan and implement continuous improvements
  • All work and operations to meet criteria of Environmental Policies
  • To work in-line with the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) Model
  • Manage and promote the Groups IMS Processes "The Way We Work"
  • To actively foster a positive staff morale
  • Willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of the management team.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:

  • Productivity targets met in line with annual objectives
  • Cost and value to be at agreed levels in line with budget
  • All value identified and applied for
  • All reporting deadlines to be met.

Person Specification

Essential (E) / Desirable (D)

Education:

Quantity Surveying qualification or working towards, experience and time served rather than formal qualifications will be considered.

Experience:

Understanding of cost management systems and ability to learn the Confirm Client Ordering system.

An understanding of Term Maintenance Contracts.

An understanding of the principles of measurement within the Highways Maintenance environment
