Job summary
Our client is currently seeking a Construction Assurance Engineer with a focus on highways. This is a contract position tied to the ambitious HS2 Phase 1 project, specifically Packages C2 and C3, operating under the Design Joint Venture (DJV).

Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspecting all permanent highways and drainage works to verify compliance with the Employer's Contract Quality Plan and design data.
- Inspecting and certifying the adequacy of the works, both on-site and off-site, in line with specified tests.
- Assisting in forming a capable team of site-based and office-based support staff.
- Maintaining health & safety standards within the organisation.
- Monitoring construction activities and supporting the assurance team to ensure contracted services are delivered.
- Coordinating with other sections' assurance engineers to ensure consistency.
- Liaising with the CAS Manager to align resource requirements with construction activities.
- Meeting project timeframes and quality targets to exceed client expectations.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway engineering or civil engineering, preferably with significant exposure to design and build projects.
- Proficiency in reviewing and implementing Quality Plans, Work Package Plans (WPPs), and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Knowledge in raising and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to closure.
- Competence in performing and overseeing site and factory inspections.
- Strong understanding of both site acceptance tests (SAT) and factory acceptance tests (FAT).
- Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken.
- Chartered status is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
