Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as Lead Design Engineer to deliver and check design solutions and associated outputs
• Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure project success
• Providing technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues
• Involvement in projects from conception to completion
• Supporting the Project Manager in clarifying project briefs, deliverables, and milestones
• Establishing project checking and approval arrangements
• Delivering significant elements of detailed design and checking outputs
• Reviewing projects on completion and recommending enhancements

Job Requirements:

• A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Significant experience in structures design, including bridges and ancillary civil structures
• Chartered Membership of the ICE or IStructE
• Proficiency with design to Eurocodes and DMRB
• Experience mentoring graduate engineers under ICE or IStructE training schemes
• Experience with structural design and analysis software like Autodesk Structural Bridge Design or LUSAS
• Experience in providing project governance and managing tight timescales
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills adaptable to different audiences
• A full UK driving licence
