Job description

Our client, operating within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional with a focus on Controls (Risk) to join their team in Barrow. This is a contract position within the Submarine Solutions business unit with hybrid working arrangements requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office every fortnight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform intermediate project reporting and scheduling.
• Support the Risk and Opportunity Management Arrangements within the programme
• Undertake intermediate problem solving based on previous experience.
• Utilise a good knowledge of business processes and procedures.
• Manage administration tasks including spreadsheets and Microsoft packages.
• Lead PM&C processes on small non-complex projects or work packages of larger projects.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks to project success, applying appropriate PM&C methods and tools.
• Agree PM&C approach with stakeholders, prepare realistic plans, and track activities against the project schedule.
• Consolidate expertise from multiple sources to provide coherent advice, supporting and promoting the development of specialist knowledge within the organisation.

Job Requirements:

• Application of related PM competencies.
• University degree or significant practical knowledge gained through experience.
• PM Qualification such as APM Project Management Qualification.

Additional Information:

• 37 hours per week with early finish on Fridays.
• 12-month contract with potential for extension or permanent placement.
• Hybrid working - minimum 2 days in the office every fortnight, subject to change.
• Standard DSE occupational health requirements.
