Our client, a renowned entity in the maritime defence sector, is seeking a Project Manager to manage bid work within their submarine solutions team. This is a contract role that requires expertise in the bids process to help shape and drive planning and programme schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development of forward-looking plans for the programme.
- Creating and refining detailed scopes and plans for the next phase of the programme.
- Developing and managing work breakdown structures to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.
- Compiling detailed and coherent assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies for work packages.
- Identifying and articulating risks and opportunities within the bid process.
- Reporting progress and forecasting to the Strategic Planning Lead and Bid Manager.
- Working collaboratively within a team, with no direct line management responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in project management within a bid structure/process.
- Proficiency in creating, shaping, and driving work packages effectively.
- Strong understanding of developing comprehensive work breakdown structures.
- Ability to clearly articulate assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies in project planning.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to identify and manage risks effectively.
- Demonstrated capability in reporting and forecasting for complex projects.
Prepared to come in and coach a team and support with the BID management
- Experience and understanding of BID cycle and life support
- Knowledge of defence supporting - does not have to be specific to Submarines
- 37 hours over 5 days
- 12 month contract - potential for extension/perm
- Location: Barrow
- Hybrid 3 days in the office - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
- Standard DSE Occupatioianl health
- Full SC/OH clearance
- Interviews w/c mid 7th October - w/c 14th October
