Location: Bristol (site based)

Rate: £68ph UMB (Inside IR35)
Role:
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Product Support Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This role is a 6-month contract, requiring the individual to work fully onsite, contributing to advanced defence system projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the deployment and maintenance of in-service middleware solutions
- Investigating and resolving software issues swiftly and efficiently
- Debugging complex software systems, collaborating with a team to find solutions
- Configuring and maintaining Linux Operating Systems, ensuring security solutions are up to date
- Providing technical support across land and maritime projects, contributing to some of the most advanced missile systems worldwide
- Ensuring clear communication of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in C or C++, JavaScript, and shell scripting languages
- Extensive experience with Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including kernel configuration and testing
- Strong background in software engineering, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving
- Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in conveying technical details to non-technical audiences
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to resolve technical issues
