Job description
Our client, a trusted and independent national capability in the telecommunication and technology sector, is currently seeking Penetration Testers and Vulnerability Researchers to join their innovative team in Birmingham. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology to ensure the security of the UK's telecommunications networks, support the rollout of 5G, and contribute to the diversification of the telecoms supply chain market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting security evaluations to identify new and existing vulnerabilities in hardware, software, and platforms underpinning the UK's critical networks
- Performing penetration testing on carrier-grade telecoms equipment
- Testing for interoperability and relative performance in multi-vendor scenarios
- Collaborating with Lab Engineers, Software Developers, and the Vulnerability Research team
- Engaging with standards bodies, the National Cyber Security Centre, academia, Ofcom, Communications Service Providers, and telecom equipment vendors
- Supporting the latest ground-breaking cybersecurity and networking technologies on national and international scales
- Contributing to the creation of an industry-leading security facility
Job Requirements:
- Experience in penetration testing
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
- Proficiency in identifying and mitigating network vulnerabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to commute to the offices in Birmingham at least twice a week
