Job description

Our client is currently seeking a Highways Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your skills and expertise in various areas including drainage, active travel, carriageway/footway improvements, and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing highway projects with a focus on sustainable and effective solutions
• Managing and supervising projects related to drainage, active travel, carriageways, footways, and structures
• Preparing detailed technical reports and project documentation
• Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success
• Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members
• Monitoring project progress and addressing any issues or modifications as needed
• Maintaining high levels of health, safety, and environmental standards on all projects

Job Requirements:

• Experience in highway engineering with a solid understanding of HTP sector dynamics
• Knowledge of drainage, active travel, carriageway, footway, and structures systems
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively within a contract-based environment
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
