We are looking for a skilled PLC Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, contributing to the optimisation of our process control systems.
Job Description:
As a PLC Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PLC programs and control systems with a focus on process automation. Your role will involve working with various PLC platforms, particularly Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi, to ensure smooth and efficient operation of production processes in the food and beverage sector. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation solutions that drive productivity, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs for process control in food and beverage manufacturing environments.
Integrate and configure PLC systems using Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi platforms.
Perform system modifications, upgrades, and improvements to enhance process automation efficiency.
Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and electrical technicians to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain and update technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and program versions.
Provide technical support and training to on-site teams and operators.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations throughout the automation process.
Participate in commissioning activities and provide post-implementation support.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience with PLC programming and development, ideally in the food & beverage industry, with a strong focus on process automation (rather than motion control).
Proficiency in working with Allen Bradley (RSLogix/Studio 5000), Siemens (TIA Portal/S7), and Mitsubishi (GX Works/FX Series) PLC systems.
Experience with HMI/SCADA development and integration.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure to solve automation issues in a fast-paced production environment.
Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the food and beverage industry.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Nice to Have:
Experience in CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems, Batching, or Recipe Management.
Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) integration.
Familiarity with process control instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure sensors, and temperature controllers.
Experience with data collection and analysis for process improvement.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary and benefits package.
Opportunities for professional growth and development.
A collaborative and innovative work environment.
Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and automation solutions in a dynamic industry.
