Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the nuclear industry, is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join their team in Reading. This is a contract position, requiring full-time on-site presence and a minimum of Security Check (SC) clearance. The role is outside IR35, and experience in the nuclear or defence background and/or installation is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing engineering projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
• Managing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality results
• Developing and implementing project plans, budgets, and timelines
• Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
• Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Reviewing and approving engineering designs and documentation
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies

Job Requirements:

• Minimum SC clearance is essential
• Significant experience in engineering management, preferably within the nuclear or defence sectors
• Understanding of installation processes in a highly regulated environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
