Job description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manufacturing Team Manager to oversee and lead all production activities within a defined manufacturing area. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of quality products that meet customer expectations while managing and developing a team of both hourly and salaried staff. You will focus on optimizing resources, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in line with our business systems and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using the company's business systems (EBS), Business Operating System (BOS), and CIF frameworks.
- Implement Lean manufacturing practices to eliminate waste and enhance process efficiency.
- Achieve key performance metrics such as TRCR, Productive Utilization, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield, and DPPM.
- Manage plant assets effectively by overseeing maintenance and facilities teams.
- Implement safety improvements and monitor safety performance through the MESH system to achieve year-over-year improvement.
- Coach and develop team members, providing mentorship to foster their professional growth.
- Set and communicate the team vision and strategy, acting as a positive role model for the team.
- Actively engage with employees, recognizing and rewarding their efforts.
- Empower employees to make decisions by removing barriers and providing necessary resources.
- Take responsibility for key metrics in your assigned value stream, including the High-5 metrics.
- Drive employee engagement to build a motivated and high-performing team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Operations.
- 1-3 years of experience leading others in a production or manufacturing environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and influence management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence, including 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and Visual Management.
- Strong problem-solving skills using methodologies like 8D or A3.
- Visionary leadership with a proactive approach to change and continuous improvement.
