Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the production of highway or drainage engineering and general development infrastructure designs.
- Delivering Section 38 and 278 highway designs and S104 drainage designs for private sector developments.
- Developing technical drawings for planning, tender, and construction purposes.
- Managing and prioritising workload for a team of engineers and technicians on major projects.
- Ensuring compliance with UK design codes, standards, and guidance for private and adoptable highway and drainage designs.
- Providing independent holistic lead role on major projects in conjunction with other team members.
- Administering project and financial management duties successfully on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintaining up-to-date CPD Record and personal development action plan.
Job Requirements:
- BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a related subject.
- Significant experience in a consultancy/private sector development background with a bias towards private sector development work.
- Understanding of UK highway and drainage design principles and flood risk assessment.
- Knowledge of applicable UK design codes, standards and guidance for highway and drainage designs.
- Experience leading the production of technical drawings and designs following industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software.
- Ability to manage the legal, planning, and technical consent processes for highway and drainage in new developments.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently using professional judgment.
- Full driving licence.
