Job Title: Section Engineer
Location: Northampton
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + package + potential subsistence

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our team on a prestigious Civil Infrastructure based in Greatworth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the delivery of key infrastructure works, focusing on earthworks and structures. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in a major project within the highways/civils or infrastructure sectors, contributing to one of the most significant infrastructure developments in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage earthworks and structures activities on site, ensuring all works are completed to high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Coordinate site activities in line with the project program, maintaining effective communication with subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Ensure that all works are delivered in compliance with project specifications, relevant industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
• Liaise with project management to provide regular updates on progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the engineering team by providing technical guidance and overseeing the implementation of engineering solutions on site.
• Assist with the preparation of project documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and quality plans.
• Manage resources, including labor, plant, and materials, to ensure the smooth running of site operations.
• Carry out regular site inspections to ensure work is being completed to the required standard and provide feedback where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in earthworks and structures on major highways or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of relevant health & safety regulations and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team on site.
• Experience working on Tier 1/large package projects or similar is advantageous.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Full UK driving license.
