Job description
Our client, a leading firm in the marine industry, is currently seeking a Graduate Naval Architect to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing effective leadership and coordination of engineering and technical activities.
- Utilising a strong understanding of Naval Architecture principles and sound engineering judgement to solve problems.
- Breaking down complex tasks and executing planned schedules of work.
- Working with the Project Management community to task and manage work conducted by technical teams.
- Mentoring others to improve knowledge within engineering and technical communities.
- Encouraging increased collaboration across the Group and wider technical teams.
- Delivering technical presentations and discussing work knowledgeably in external forums.
- Ensuring all work is conducted safely and governance is consistently applied across technical programmes.
Job Requirements:
- Understanding of Naval Architecture equivalent to a BEng / MEng in Naval Architecture.
- Highly motivated, dynamic with a positive attitude and values of integrity, collaboration, and performance.
- Keen desire to develop and grow technical skills and understanding.
- Good knowledge of data analysis including experience with programming (Matlab, Python etc.).
- Ability to develop alternative strategies to overcome issues and innovate for greater customer value.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and presentational, with the ability to exchange complex information.
- Good team working, organisation, and attention to detail.
