Role Overview:
They are seeking a Highly skilled Offshore Wind Structural Specialist with a minimum of 5 years' experience (8+ years preferred) in offshore wind. This role will focus on providing technical leadership in foundation design, managing multiple workstreams, and ensuring effective client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for offshore wind foundation design projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to solve complex design problems.
- Manage multiple workstreams, including overseeing the work of junior engineers and liaising with fabricators and installation contractors.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Develop and present project updates, technical reports, and presentations to stakeholders and clients.
- Proactively identify and address project challenges, managing client expectations and requirements.
- Take ownership of technical tasks within your area of expertise and provide mentorship to junior team members.
- Progress towards leading larger projects with appropriate support and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore wind engineering, with a strong technical background in structural design (FEA, primary/secondary steel).
- Preference for experience in secondary steel design, but broad technical awareness in offshore wind foundation design is essential.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong leadership qualities, with a proactive and motivated approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and present technical information clearly.
- Experience in dealing with client demands and managing expectations effectively.
