Job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Voids Surveyor with a solid understanding of building trades and construction. If you have a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (or equivalent) in Construction/Built Environment, or broader qualifications supported by relevant experience, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and survey the Council's housing stock, including Council houses and garages.
• Manage vacant properties, ensuring timely inspections and maintenance.
• Specify and arrange necessary remedial, modernization, and improvement works.
• Initiate work orders and oversee project delivery within statutory requirements and budget constraints.
• Collaborate effectively within a team, including surveyors, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
• Utilize strong influencing skills to engage with customers, ensuring their needs are met with tact and diplomacy.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Sound knowledge of building trades, construction, and maintenance.
• BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction/Built Environment (or similar) preferred.
• Relevant experience in the building industry.
• Strong customer focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to think clearly under pressure and balance conflicting priorities.
• Initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
