Job description


Our client, a leading consultancy in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking an Electrical Systems Commissioning Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Plat-form Test Procedures (PTP) validating I&C functions at the test bay for the operational control system (SPPA-T2000 S7)
  • Creating Sufficiency Analysis Notes (SAN) demonstrating proper test coverage of safety functions
  • Preparing System Commissioning Programmes (SCP) and related documentation
  • Drafting Commissioning Procedures (CP) and associated study files
  • Confirming project data and internal organisation with the discipline lead, including budget and schedule
  • Identifying relevant stakeholders and resources
  • Checking the maturity of input data against configurations and upcoming changes
  • Recording risks in the relevant register and proposing mitigation plans
    • Opening and maintaining the study file as tasks evolve
  • Producing deliverables in compliance with engineering procedures, considering OPEX from other EPR projects
  • Supporting I&C function tests (PTP) at test bays in France, including test result assessment
  • Reporting progress against the initial time schedule and budget
  • Updating the risk register as needed
  • Obtaining deliverable approvals from relevant parties and storing them in the EDMS

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in power generation or process industries with heavy regulatory constraints
  • Experience drafting mechanical and monitoring equipment testing guidelines and procedures
  • Functional knowledge of electrical systems
    • 220V DC 2h and 24h Uninterruptible Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
    • 10kV Normal Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
    • 10kV Emergency Power Supply System
    • 10kV Emergency Diesel Generators System
    • 690V Normal Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
    • 690V Emergency Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
    • 690V Ultimate Diesel Generators System
    • 400V Normal Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
    • 400V Emergency Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
    • 400V Regulated Emergency Power Supply System
    • 400V AC 2h Uninterruptible Power Supply System for Nuclear Island
  • Ability to read and understand I&C logic diagrams
  • First commissioning experience is a plus, especially on nuclear sites or for commissioning procedure development
  • Ability to propose technical solutions fit for purpose in their area of expertise
  • Capability to coordinate technical topics involving multiple engineering disciplines and suppliers
  • Strong writing skills focused on drafting test procedures and substantiation files
  • Rigour in the production and review of deliverables
  • Ability to work in a team in an international and multicultural environment
  • Relational ease with customers and partners
