Job description

Our client, a prominent consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior to Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Dublin. This permanent position provides an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects within the rail industry, with a focus on geotechnical and civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing geotechnical projects from inception through to completion
• Providing technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, including foundation design, embankments, and cuttings
• Leading small teams and mentoring junior engineers
• Conducting geotechnical site investigations and preparing detailed technical reports
• Collaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery
• Identifying project objectives and directing team members to achieve collective goals
• Growing and developing a local geotechnical team in Ireland
• Maintaining client relationships and ensuring high standards of customer service

Job Requirements:

• Experience in geotechnical engineering within the rail sector
• Chartered Engineer in Ireland
• Proficiency in project management and team leadership
• Strong understanding of foundation design, embankments, and cuttings
• Experience with ground treatment and improvement techniques
• Ability to motivate and direct team members to achieve project goals
• Aspiration to develop a local team and grow the business in Ireland
• Preferred experience in offshore design projects, such as windfarm and port developments
