Transportation Project Manager/Design Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director who specialises within the rail sector to join our growing Ireland team.

We're currently based in Central Dublin but would welcome applications from candidates willing to be based on either Dublin or Cork.

Your role will be that of leading the Transportation operations in Ireland and at the same time to act as the portfolio lead for the delivery of our railways and highways projects.

You will be embedded in the UK&I Transportation & Infrastructure team reporting to the Infrastructures UK&I Director and working collaboratively to deliver our most emblematic UK and Irish Projects: Cork Area Commuter Rail, DART+ Kildare, BusConnects Cork, BusConnects Dublin, HS2 Phase 1 (All lots).

Projects include all stages of design from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision both UK and Ireland. Our clients are a mix between Public Clients and Contractors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing, expanding and developing key client
  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities and leading tender submissions.
  • Overseeing project delivery for our portfolio of schemes. Manage project work on a day-to-day basis and ensure that the work is delivered within the agreed timescale and budgets
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design of infrastructure projects. Railways and Highways desirable.
  • Commercial management of projects. Acting as primary client contact for cost and commercial related reporting and quality assurance.
  • Resource management for the team.
  • Team leadership, recruitment, and development.
  • Line management responsibility for the development and performance management of other team members to support the development of business
  • Working to continually improve services and drive innovation

Skills/Qualifications

  • Chartered Civil Engineering and/or membership of a recognised body
  • +10 years post-graduate experience
  • Experience in Business Development
  • Experience engaging with Clients, external stakeholders and subconsultants
  • Multidisciplinary design management experience and successful delivery of complex projects.
  • Oral Hearing experience, desirable
  • Ideally, experience in NEC Contracts.
  • Flexible and good team player
