Job description


Our client, operating within the rail sector, is currently seeking Cost/Senior Cost Manager to join their team. This permanent role involves working on an array of high-profile infrastructure projects, including initiatives with Network Rail, TFL, HS2, and airports such as Heathrow and Gatwick.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Proactively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and correct applications are made.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
  • Managing contract changes effectively, ensuring projects remain within governance and adopt best practices.
  • Driving improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in cost management within the rail sector.
  • Strong understanding of PMO principles and practices.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field.
  • Chartered or working towards chartered status, or the right attitude to learn and develop.
  • Client-facing skills with the ability to work both in client offices and the company's offices.
  • Knowledge of Contract Management, preferably NEC3 Option C.
